Thank you parents for the quick response to the food sign up for Emergency Day. We have all food taken care of for that day. This sign up will be closed now.

As the date approaches, we now have the sign ups for food for the Block Party and the Block Party areas. We have had several gracious donors this year come forward willing to help us with this event. If you are interested in helping with the remaining food for this event please check your email for the “Sign-Up Genius” link.


Students Spring pictures are due to the school by tomorrow, Friday, April 8th. If you are interested in purchasing any of those pictures, you need to return your picture order form to your student(s) teacher. LifeTouch will be picking up the the order forms tomorrow. If you did not receive your student(s) pictures, you will need to contact the school office.


Please remember all lunch orders have to be purchased by Friday of the previous week by 9:00 a.m.

Lower School Chapel showcase will be the 4th Grade class on Tuesday, April 12th and the guest speaker will be Mr. Nathan Eaton, Youth Pastor of Clearwater Baptist Church. If anyone would like to join us for Lower School Chapel, it is every Tuesday morning at 8:50am in the Church sanctuary. We would love to have you join us!

The 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th Grade classes will be taking a field trip to Shakespeare Tavern on Thursday April 14th..  The purpose of this trip is to allow students to actually see Shakespeare acted out instead of only reading the plays. Students will leave the school at approximately 6:45am. Students will need to wear their red CLA polo shirts and khaki bottoms.


The 2nd Grade class will be taking a field trip to  The Muse on  Friday, April 15th. Students will get to see simple machine exhibits (pulley’s, levers, etc.) and other hands on exhibits and building areas. Students will leave the school at approximately 8:00am and will return to the school by dismissal. Students need to wear their red CLA polo shirts and khaki bottoms.


The 7th and 8th Grade classes will be taking a field trip to Lee University on Friday, April 15th. The students will create a clay vessal in the style of ancient Greek Pottery reinforcing the study of historic Greek pottery styles and production techniques. Students will leave the school at approximately 8:00am and will return to the school by dismissal. Students need to wear a CLA t shirt or polo and jean bottoms.


We have begun the re-enrollment process for the 2016-2017 school year. The re-enrollment fee will be $250 per student.  The re-enrollment fee will be deducted from the student tuition.

For the 2016-2017 school year, the tuition will be $4700 per student. Tuition discounts for our Pastors and Teachers will remain in effect next year.  If our tuition exceeds 10% of your income you will qualify for financial aid based on available funds

We are asking all of our families who are re-enrolling to submit your completed and signed re-enrollment forms and fees to the school office as soon as possible, but no later than April 27th.


The Kindergarten and 1st Grade classes will be taking a field trip to Mayfield  Dairy on Friday, April 22nd.  Students will experience counting and science techniques in the dairy process. They will end the day after lunch by an afternoon of bowling. Students will be leaving the school at approximately 9:45am and return to the school by dismissal.  Students need to wear their red CLA polo shirt and denim bottoms.


CLA will be presenting Agatha Christie’s “The Mousetrap” on Friday, April 22nd at Athens City Middle School at 7:00pm. Tickets are $4 for adults and $2 for non CLA students. CLA students will be free.  We invite everyone to come and enjoy the suspense as the CLA Dram Team presents this mystery story on stage. The school office has flyers available if anyone is interested in distributing any.


CLA will be having their annual Standardized Testing the week of April 25th—28th. Please make sure your student(s) get plenty of rest, eat a good breakfast and arrive to school on time. Testing will begin first thing in the mornings and we do not want students to miss a part of their testing. If you have any questions regarding the testing you may contact the school office.


The 9th and 10th Grade classes will be taking a field trip to Nashville on Friday, April 29th. Students will see the Parthenon and the sculptures reinforcing the work in ancient Greek history. Added, a campus tour of Vanderbilt or Belmont. Students will be leaving the school at approximately 8:00am and return to school at 7:00pm . Students need to wear their red CLA polo shirts and khaki bottoms.


Wednesday, May 4th, CLA will be holding their 7th Annual Emergency Day. We will be having representatives from different emergency agency’s. So far, we will be having representatives from McMinn County Sheriff’s Department, Clearwater and McMinn Rural Fire Departments, McMinn Rescue Squad, LifeStar, AMR, and, TBI, Forestry, East TN Children’s Hospital and many more. We have tried to include everyone we can think of in the emergency profession. We have stations set up for each department so the students can ask questions and some departments have different activities the students can participate in. This is an all day, outside event. Students and families are able to get up close and personal to a lot of emergency equipment and experience how it all works and who does what in the case of an emergency. They get to look inside the vehicles, crawl in and out of obstacle courses, maze trailers, mock wrecks, etc.

Our t-shirts have been designed by one of our own students this year. We are in the process now of designing and getting our colors, styles, etc. T shirts will be $10 per shirt and come in children and adult sizes.


Saturday, May 7th, CLA will be hosting the 1st Annual Block Party in Market Square, Downtown Athens. This will be a  Spring school fundraiser. There will be a 5K Run/Walk beginning at 8:00am with a Pancake Breakfast. The day will consist of games, food,  fun, live entertainment and a silent auction at the end of the day from local donors. Tickets for the Pancake Breakfast will be going on sale soon. If anyone is interested in participating  in this event as a 5K  participant or a booth vendor, please visit the website under 5K and Vendor Info. We look forward to  a very fun filled day!

We now have pancake tickets ($5) and the regular event tickets!  Feel free to stop buy and purchase yours when it is convenient for you.  We will be set up in the Welcome Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays from now until the BLOCK PARTY for the presale items.  Presale tickets are sold 50 for $45 and 100 for $90.
Parents should have received 2 emails from Mrs. Dake  to sign up for the spots we need filled (working or donating).  This is the easiest way to know who is where and what you would like to do.  Once the spots are filled you will not be able to sign up.

Thursday May, 12th the 5th grade class will be taking a field trip to Loudon State Park for a field trip. The students have been studying colonial life in America and will visit the fort to see what daily life was like from 1756-1760. Students will leave the school at approximately 8:30 am and return to the school dismissal. Students are to wear their red CLA polo and denim bottoms.


The last day of school is Friday, May 20th. The Summer is quickly coming. It will be here before we know it. Please be watching your emails for more information on end of the year events coming up.
