ARCHERY

CLA is proud to be a member of NASP (National Archery in the Schools Program). This program is designed to teach international style target archery in physical education classes 4th-10th grade. The core content covers archery history, safety, technique, equipment, mental concentration, core strengthening physical fitness.

Equipment used is state-of-the-art and designed to fit every student. The participation fee is $50 per student, and this cost covers team t-shirt, arm guards, and a string bow. Archery Team practice is twice a week from 3:00pm-4:45pm. The season runs from mid-September to mid-November.

The Archery Team consists of 20 students and must meet all grade point average requirements as listed in the CLA Student/Parent Handbook in order to participate on the CLA Archery Team.

BASKETBALL

CLA has several basketball teams–Elementary Girls, Elementary Boys, and High School Boys. Our teams play other Christian and public schools in the southeast Tennessee area. Basketball teams begin with students in 5th grade.

Our goal is that our students learn discipline, perseverance, teamwork, and godly character. We hope that basketball (and all extracurricular activities) will be an extension of our Christ-centered academics. Let us know if your student would like to participate in CLA basketball.

CLA is a proud member of the Southern Christian Athletic Association.

CROSS COUNTRY

Our program’s purpose is to grow the physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of our student athletes while we develop and improve their running ability and give them opportunities to compete on a high level. We desire to establish a long-term enjoyment of running for our athletes. Offered for 6th grade through High school boys and girls.

The Middle School cross team is a member of the SETAC conference and competes against other middle schools in the southeast Tennessee area. We are a member of TMSAA and have the opportunity to compete on a regional and state level. The season runs mid-August through late-September.

The High School cross team is a member of TSSAA and competes against a variety of public and private schools. The season runs late-August through early-October.

GOLF

The CLA Golf Club was established in May 2016. This club was created to encourage students to, not only, use their physical skills but their mental skills while enjoying a precise game of knowledge.

CLA encourages students to always be examples of the image of Christ in all they do, including sports activities.

Success in this game depends less on strength of body than strength of mind and character. –Arnold Palmer

Students that participate in any CLA sports are required to have a yearly Sports Physical. Required forms (link above) must be completed and on file before any participation.
