Erntedankfest (German Thanksgiving)!

On Monday, November 22nd, the 10th and 11th graders participated in preparing, serving, and partaking in a traditional German Thanksgiving celebrating the harvest for CLA's high school students. In Germany, the celebration happens at the beginning of October, celebrating the reaping of the harvest. It is usually celebrated locally with parades, parties, and festivities in which everyone in the community participates and helps plan.

Our German Class had a blast preparing everything and did a great job! Check out some of the photos below. The meal consisted of Rindsrouladen (beef rolls), Kartoffelknoedel (potato dumplings), Rotkohl (red cabbage), Bratensosse (gravy), and Apfelstrudel (apple strudel) for desert.
